I have the same problem with my 42 inch insignia. It has left side dark and right side good. After 20 minutes it starts to work right again....most of the time....though sometimes it takes much longer. I took it in to best buy and they sent it for repair. It came back and the technician claimed that the screen had gone bad and I needed to buy a new one. Can you imagine.....3 years old and $800 later and I can just throw it on the curb for trash collection. What a piece of shiiiiii. I won't buy from Best Buy again.

My 55" just started doing this. First turn it on, from the center to the right is real dark for about a foot. The far right of the screen the pictures lags? has trailers, ghosting. And then about 15 minutes later poof its fine. Yeah, this does suck!

Hello tsel619,
Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your television. LCD screens do not emit their own light and are backlit with CCFL or LED lights. Based on the description it would appear some of these lights behind the screen are starting to go out. In general these lights are built-in to the LCD panel and can't be changed out. However, a qualified repair technician would need to examine the TV to provide a concrete diagnoses.

But the LCD Panel that the light bulbs are attached to can be changed out correct?

Hello tsel619,
You can replace the entire LCD panel in the TV, however, the cost of a new panel typically approaches or exceeds the price of a new television.
