Re: Update Firmware

HokieNation,

Noticing that your remote has become unpaired can be normal issue that can pop-up and is sparked by the factory reset. I’d highly recommend using our floated post here to sync your remote. I’ve detailed the differences between Full & Basic options below.

Full: access to live TV, over tens of thousands of streaming movies and TV episodes, thousands of apps, and Alexa Skills.

Basic: access to live TV and six preset streaming apps, Alexa and the full Appstore are not included.

Re: Update Firmware

Mariah, the problem is that holding the three buttons down for ten seconds never worked. The remote only turned the tv on and off. I tried to hard factory reset that was described in another answer that was posted. I did this three or four times and then held down the home button for two minutes and the remote still would only turn the tv on and off. I waited for another hour before I tried the hard reset a fifth time. I then held the home button down for at least two minutes. And then finally it worked. I went through the set up and successfully picked the full and everything worked out. So, HokieNation is a happy person again and no longer disappointed with you. Hope you have a great day.

Re: Update Firmware

Mariah, obviously you did not understand or read the entire statement. The last or fifth time I did the hard factory reset and then held down the home button on the remote for two plus minutes. The remote STARTED WORKING AGAIN. I was able to go through the set up steps for the full experience on my fire tv. So READ THE ENTIRE POST. Before you give up and send me to customer care. Everything worked out OK. THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED. HokieNation is ok and happy now.
