If you take a flashlight close to the screen when it is powered on, can you see anything on the screen?
In addition, can you let me know about how long ago you purchased that television?

Thanks for those details. That makes it sounds like a failed backlight. That would be a hardware issue that requires physical repair.
Please call Insignia support at (877) 467-4289 for some additional troubleshooting. They can help you confirm if it is a hardware issue, and go over repair options if needed.
