My tv always turns off then turns on whenever there is a flash of bright light. it started happening awhile ago and i thought it was the HDMI cord so i bought a new one and it stopped for awhile and it just started doing it again. it turns off and on no matter if im playing a movie or a game. it will do it multiple times in a row if the flashing continues after the tv turns on again. is this the HDMI cord or the TV? is my tv going out so i need to get a new tv?

Hello, CodeMeBlack,
Thank you for joining us here on the Best Buy Forums! We have quite a lot of cool posts and articles on here, and I'd like to invite you to check out more of our site when you get the chance!
This definitely sounds like a unique case, and I'd like to see if I may be able to shed some light on this. Can you share what model of TV you have? For clarification, was the TV turning off on its own, or is the light flashing when manually using the power button? Let me know, so I can review this further.
Best Regards,

Gotcha.
I appreciate those additional details. If you haven't already, please try power-cycling the TV by turning it off and unplugging it for several minutes. This should serve to reset the TV hardware, to see if it might be a hardware issue.
Based on the details you are providing, it sounds like it may be an internal issue that would require a repair. While at this time, we are suspending our in-home and in-store services in response to COVID-19, I would suggest getting in touch with the manufacturer, Insignia, through their support page for any tips in the meantime until we are accepting repairs. Additional details about our response to COVID-19 can be found here, including how to proceed if you have a Geek Squad Protection plan on that TV. i hope this information helps!

Hi, CodeMeBlack,
Thanks for the update! I’m disappointed to hear that your TV is still turning off in the middule of use. I know there is never an ideal time to have issues with a TV!
At this point, I second Alyssa’s recommendation to connect with Insignia directly. You can give them a call at (877) 467-4289. When calling, please be with your TV and have your model number handy.
Thank you,
