Thw TV shuts down after pressing the on button, getting a blue "on" light and then turns itself off. I have changed the power cord and it made no difference. I have waited for 60 seconds before trying again - no success! On two or three occasions, it has stayed on for 20 to 30 seconds and a good picture came on until the tv power shut itself down. The TV is used in a master bedroom, no other power requirements except fpr two small table lamps and an LCD clock on the other side of the room perhaps 15 ft. away. The tv is wall mounted and used approximately 5 or 6 hours a day.
The short duration happened suddenly and their were no indications of any problems prior to this time.

Hello DanSh,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
If you haven't already, try power-cycling the TV by turning it off and unplugging it for several mintues. This will reset the TV hardware. If the problem persists afterward, it's likely that your TV will require repairs. Service can be obtained by carrying the unit in to the place of purchase along with your original receipt for validation of the one-year warranty.
Sincerely,
John

I have power recyled and it made no difference-STILL SHUT OFF After 5 sec or so. Its been over a year-so no warranty. Any further suggestions?
Any ideas as to what I should do AT this point? Thanks, DanSh06-07-2013 09:40 AM
Hello again DanSh,
Your remaining option is to pursue repairs, unfortunately. Service is available through the place of purchase. The model of TV you've specified in the subject is a newer model and cannot be more than a year old, so you should be eligible for repairs under warranty.
Sincerely,
John

I am having the same exact problem with my Insignia tv & I notice from these posts there are several different model numbers with this problem. Given the "I dont care" attitude of the Insignia customer service I (& I hope many others) will NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM INSIGNIA. If all they can tell their customers is pay to get it fixed I think their customer service is PISS POOR. They obviously know about the problems.

Hello rell87,
Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
All of our replacement parts are handled through www.partstore.com for aftermarket components. Unfortunately I do not have any of the diagnostic steps, as all of our warranty services are repaired through Geek Squad and they retain all the necessary documentation.
Regards,
Jon
