I recently moved to a rental unit that doesnt have wifi for tv streaming. So i bought a Insignia 24 inch Fire TV/Smart TV to connect to my phone to be able to stream and tv and such. But i can't get it to connect to my Samsung S20+ phone....I tried to connect via Bluetooth and says no devices available. so i went and bought a HDMI cable and USB C adapter to connect my phone to the tv......... and when I connect them I get a message box that says
"Monitor or TV can't display Samsung Dex Your Monitor or TV isn't working properly or its current resolution isn't supported by Samsung Dex"
Thae TV won't go past the initial setup without being connected to something, so i can't cast it from my phone to the tv either. I'm about out of ideas, any suggestions on how to get it to connect?
Thanks

Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to us via our Forums. I believe in order for you to be able to mirror or use the firestick, you must have some type of wifi (Broadband connection). The wifi the Samsung phone provides, while it might be 5G smart phone is not strong enough to work with a TV alone.

It would still not be strong enough, the hotspot is a great option for web use on a laptop or a tablet, unfortunately not for a television.
