I have an Insignia 39" television that I primarily use as my computer monitor. The picture fits just fine when I'm in game picture mode, but when I switch to any of the other picture modes (Vivid, theatre, standard, ect), the picture becomes too big for the screen.

I've tried adjusting the aspect ratio, but the only options it gives me is normal and wide, which are already both too big, and zoom and cinema, which i can't even see the task bar. I believe i fixed this issue months ago with the Game mode, but for the life of me I cannot remember how the hell I did it. I'm sure it was completely by accident. Please help!

Go into the menu.  Go to the advanced video setting and turn off the overscan feature.  If that doesn't solve it, then go back into the menu and go to settings.  Go to the computer settings and choose auto adjust.  Those are the only other ways to adjust the computer image.

I just singed in yesterday and so am new. I just started using a 28 tv as my monitor and had the same problem. The picture was too big for my monitor.  So I found the solution here. Thanks

Hello...I am having the same issue as they are, however I do not have those options on my remote control...how can I change my screen to fit.  It has been fine until yesterday.  Please help.

If you are connecting to the TV via HDMI, you can adjust the TV screen display size by going into the TV menu under Picture, or Advanced Video and changing the TV Aspect ratio between Normal or Wide. If those do not get a good fit you will need to go into your computer Display settings and experiment with different resolutions until you find the one that gives you the best fit.
