Not displaying 1080 p 120hz

Within the last few weeks my tv Insignia™ - 42" Class / LED / 1080p / 120Hz / HDTV
Model: NS-42E470A13
No longer displays properly. Cable channels come in as 1080i 60hz. And my DVD player 480p 60hz. We have not changed any settings or cables. Why has this happened and how can we fix it

Re: Not displaying 1080 p 120hz

Hello Catruben,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

The TV will show the highest quality signal being sent to it. In terms of the hz rate, the tv will show 60hz because that is what the source devices are sending, but it is doubling that so you are seeing a 120hz image. You can adjust the refresh rate blending by going into Picture/Advanced Video/Insignia Motion 120.

You will need to go into the Picture Settings on your source devices(ie. Cable box settings, DVD settings) and change the video output to the highest available that the TV will support.

Re: Not displaying 1080 p 120hz

Hello Hop77,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

The TV is going to display the highest resolution sent to it. Go into your Genie menu setting and look for display or picture output settings. Once the Genie has been told to send 1080, that should have you to a Full Quality images.

Re: Not displaying 1080 p 120hz

Hello Hop77,

Thank you for responding!

If the TV is showing 720, that is what is being sent to it. If the If the Genie was originally at 720, and you changed it to 1080, it may need to powercycle. Provided it is set to 1080, and you're still receiving 720 then it is most likely going to be a limitation of the programming currently being watched. This information is under the assumption that the Genie is connected with a HDMI cord.

Re: Not displaying 1080 p 120hz

Hello Hop77,

Thank you for responding!

In that case you will need to contact Direct, and have them go through the Genie settings with you to see if there is anything in the advanced settings. As I mentioned, the TV displays the highest setting being sent to it, so the Genie will need to be adjusted to send out full HD.
