No Sound, Sound fades to zero

I have an insignia NS-24D420NA16.  My sound gradually fades away on both HDMI channels using the satellite box and Roku.

I tested the satellite box on another TV and it works fine.

If I turn the TV off then on again, it works for a minute, then fades to zero again.

I have no other devices hooked up.

Re: No Sound, Sound fades to zero

Hello tigersog,

Welcome to Community@Insignia!

If you haven't already done so, I would recommend power-cycling your TV by turning it off and unplugging it for several minutes. This should serve to reset the TV hardware. If the problem persists,

Since the volume change can also be related to errant signals sent by the remote control, I recommend resetting your remote by removing the batteries and pressing all of its buttons, then installing new batteries. This should resolve any issues with the remote control.

You may also wish to reset the TV to defaults. You can find instructions for this process in the User Guide beginning on page 65.

I hope this helps.

Re: No Sound, Sound fades to zero

Okay, I power cycled the TV

I changed the batteries in the remote and pressed all the buttons

I reset the setting on the tv to restore default settings

I turned the TV On and the volume was fine for a few minutes, then faded to zero as usual

As it fades, the sound gets muffled before it's gone completely

This happens on both HDMI inputs

It happens on the satellite box and the Roku stick

There are no devices in between

The picture is fine

Hello tigersog,

Thank you for the update.

Given that the troubleshooting was not successful, it is likely your TV will need repairs. You can pursue service by carrying your TV in to your local Geek Squad. You can schedule an appointment by visiting We're Here to Help and selecting "Make a Reservation" under "Getting Help is Easy."

Thank you for writing to us.

Re: No Sound, Sound fades to zero

So I hooked up a pair of standard PC speakers through the audio (headphones) output, and the sound does not fade away.
