I replaced my 2009 Insignia NS-L22X-2A with a 2021 Insignia NS-24F202NA22. My personal computer has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti media card that is connected to HDMI2 on the TV. If I switch from PC to another input such as Antenna for 15 minutes or more, then switch back to HDMI2 the screen displays "no signal detected". A hard reset of the PC is required to reconnect.

 The NVIDIA card has a current driver and is set for 1920x1080 resolution, 60 Hz refresh. Screen sleep is set for 2 hours, and PC sleep is set for 2 hours.

Oddly, if I first switch from Antenna to HDMI1 (connected to my stereo amplifier) I can then switch from HDMI1 to HDMI2 and the PC reconnects. That is a lot of extra steps, considering my previous TV remote controller had a dedicated button for TV and a button for PC and I could easily switch back and forth as needed.

This will probably be a deal breaker if there is no resolution. I see other posts here from up to 11 years ago with similar issues. Seriously? This can't be solved?

While I'm happy to hear you've found a means for the TV to accept the signal from your computer, workarounds are not ideal for the best experience.

It sounds like you've been diligent in your troubleshooting for this issue, but without the desired resolution. At this point, I recommend contacting Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289 for more advanced assistance troubleshooting your home theater setup.

Bought this to replace my 22" Insignia TV that I used as a TV, computer monitor, and entertainment display. The 24" Insignia TV does not function like the previous TV. First, it wants to be the center of the universe - all A/V sources must be connected to the TV, not through a receiver. The result is I cannot play audio CDs or MP3 files unless the TV is on. This is extremely wasteful of energy. The TV is also unable to detect the computer input unless my receiver/amplifier is also turned on and switched to TV input. Once connected it displays fine, even if the receiver is turned off. If the input is switched to another HDMI input or antenna for some time, then switched back to the computer input - the signal is often not detected and requires multiple, sometimes many, round trips through the home screen and input selections before reconnecting.
Two separate techs at Insignia support acted like this had never happened before and diagnosed it as a bad input controller. The same model replacement TV has the same dysfunction. It appears that this TV was never intended to be used as a computer monitor; since the HDMI input renaming options don't include anything like computer, PC, laptop, etc.
