Re: NS-55L260A13 Lag on HDMI/Component

Hey everyone,

I just found this website that reports and grades on input lag for TV's.

http://www.displaylag.com/

Turns out the Sony TV I planned on getting is the best 50 inch on the list!

Peace out Insignia!

(BTW, none of Insignia'sTV's even made the list.)

Re: NS-55L260A13 Lag on HDMI/Component

It's funny, the worst measured lag on that site is a Samsung with 94ms delay. And it's the worst by a wide margin.

I've measured this Insignia model at a tragic 150ms!

Don't forget mattSER this is not a defect, this is how Insignia designs this products according to their last statement.   Apparently the are working hard at being the worst possible TV manufacturer and succeeding quite wonderfully I would say!

Re: NS-55L260A13 Lag on HDMI/Component

For the record, I returned by TV to Best Buy today without any hassle from them. I'll give the credit for that.

I am now enjoying my new Sony KDL55EX640 55" BRAVIA.

Games play GREAT on it!!!!

Good luck everyone!

Re: NS-55L260A13 Lag on HDMI/Component

Hi all, new to forum but have had insignia TVs since the HDTV CRT days. I had the same problem with my NS50 when I first got it, 1080p does not solve the problem, I think it actually makes it worse..switch it to 1280x768, I play COD all the time and it works flawlessly. I never use the built in things like dynamic whatever it is..they typically suck anyway, and turn off the 120hz also. Please try and share results, thanks.

Re: NS-55L260A13 Lag on HDMI/Component

one thing i have noticed is that on pc resolutions 120hz does not work at all. i think that it has to do with the fact that they don't lag

Not only 120hz, but also Adaptive Contrast and the sharpness settings are disabled.

This is typical for a lot of TVs.

Re: NS-55L260A13 Lag on HDMI/Component

The only difference between a PC and Video signal across a HDMI should be PC uses RGB (0-255 data range) vs Video using YCbCr (16-235 data range) anything else to my knowledge should be how the TV decides to process the signal.  My guess would be we do not have the ability to disable certain advance "features" which is resulting in the lag.  I was playing around with the color features on my PS3 and by putting it to RGB I did see an improvement in lag from 169 to 156ms, unfortunately 13 ms is not enough of an improvement to allow decent gameplay.  Keep in mind I'm using the calibration in Rock Band to determine lag and I'm guessing it's not highly accurate but it give some idea when experimenting with settings.

Re: NS-55L260A13 Lag on HDMI/Component

Yea, this unit is effectively incompatible with Playstation 3.

Maybe the 4 will let us set a custom resolution? Wish we could get a list of all the supported input resolutions.
