I've got an Insignia NS-55DR710NA17 TV that I purchased in May, 2016. About a month ago, I started noticing dark horizontal bars across the screen, regardless of the color being displayed. I really liked this TV, but 3.5yrs of home use seems like it's a bit short. What is the expected life for the backlight on one of these TV's?

Hi there, HubbSigns,
Welcome to the forum, and thank you for reaching out regarding your 55-inch Insignia TV! Having purchased my own 55-inch TV a few years ago, I would be disappointed as well if I began noticing dark bars across the screen. While rare that I find time to enjoy a movie, I want the best picture possible when I do find the time to enjoy one!
Most TVs come with a manufacturer warranty that lasts a year for parts and labor. Beyond this time frame, we do offer Geek Squad Protection (GSP) that can come in handy to service your TV under. Generally, these are offered in two or five-year terms. If you know you have an active GSP, you should feel welcome to contact Geek Squad at (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778 to set up service. If you are unaware of whether any potential GSP is still active, please let me know, and I'll be happy to dig into this with you!
