NS-55 TV has Sound, but no Picture

Last night our tv was working fine, but this morning there is no picture. The sound works fine, but the screen is just black. This is the same if I change the input or try to press other buttons on the TV. Help! Is this fixable?

Welcome to the forum.  It's never a good feeling when you discover a piece of technology in your home has stopped working suddenly.  If you will please reply with the model number of your TV, I will do my best to help troubleshoot this with you.

Hi LizCueva,

 

Thank you for sharing the model number of your TV!  I have a few more questions for you that I hope you can answer. 

 

When you power on the TV, does the Insignia startup logo appear, or does the screen remain blank?  When you press the MENU button, does anything appear on screen?  Have you tried to power cycle your TV by unplugging it from the power source, letting it sit for a few minutes, and then plugging it back in?

Hi Sam,

The logo does not come up, the screen is blank. Same thing when I press the menu button. I sort of did the second thing--my tv is plugged into a power strip and I turned off the strip for a few kinutes and turned it back on, and nothing still.

I hope you're having a pleasant weekend so far!  If the on-screen menu isn't appearing when you press the MENU button, we wouldn't be able to walk you through a factory reset.  My best suggestion would be to schedule a service appointment with Geek Squad online or by phone at 1-800-433-5778.  Our Agents would be in the best position to take a closer look and see what repairs may be necessary for your TV, but I should note that any services rendered without a Geek Squad Protection plan would incur an out-of-pocket fee.
