NS-50DF710NA19

So I have a tv that was gifted to me and now just cycles on and off or turns on for a few second then powers off. I called support and they were of no help and very rude. Employee even hung up on me. Calls back went to empty dead air space on their phone system. Hopefully they do record and monitor all calls.
So far it seems with out a proof of purchase (even though tv manufactuelred nov 2018) I am out of luck. Beware buying or owning one of these private Best Buy labels!!

Hello, theman55,

Thanks for joining our community. I'm very sorry about the bad experience you had when calling us. That is not at all typical of the service we offer, and not the kind of service we want to provide. I'm sure you'll have a better experience the next time you call in.

As for the television, Insignia products come with a one-year manufacturer's warranty from purchase, but we do need a proof of purchase to repair them. I suggest reaching out to the person who gifted you the TV for the order number or receipt information. Once you have that, call Geek Squad at (800) GEEKSQUAD or (800) 433-5778 to see if we can set someone up to come out to work on that television.

Sincerely,

Next calls were not much better. Hopefully calls are recorded and monitored
Why if serial number and date of manufacture show unit is within warranty is some proof of purchase still needed? Are your products stolen or something that this requirement is imposed??

Re: NS-50DF710NA19

Hi, theman55,

Calls are recorded and monitored for quality purposes, so we will work to get better going forward.

The manufacturer's warranty runs from the time of purchase, so we would need to know when an item was bought to know how long the warranty lasts. Here,t hat would be used to set and end date for the warranty. We do not capture serial numbers for these televisions at sale, so we could not look the purchase up that way.

You can try calling (800) GEEKSQUAD or (800) 433-5778 to see if we are able to schedule a repair based on the serial number, but I do not believe that will be possible.

Sincerely,

Re: NS-50DF710NA19

If a tv fails after one year of date of manufacture then I understand the need for proof of purchase to validate warranty. In my case and possibly many others the tv has failed less than one year from date of manufacture. Certainly is within the warranty period then.
I searched and see others with this model and same issue. So a known defect of the tv should be treated better than what I am experiencing as well. I saw no posting of any resolution for the others so that makes me wonder too. Also I saw no way to post on their thread either.

Hi, theman55,

As I mentioned, the best way to find out for sure would be to give Geek Squad a call at (800) GEEKSQUAD or (800) 433-5778. They can double check to see if that repair can be covered without a receipt based on the serial number.

Re: NS-50DF710NA19

I did call the geek squad yesterday and got nowhere. That was through my local BB. Person I spoke with couldn’t search by serial number and were again asking for a proof of purchase. I guess I can try again with the number you are providing.

Hello, theman55,

I hope that Geek Squad is able to help out based on that. Otherwise, they will need that purchase information to schedule that repair.

Re: NS-50DF710NA19

Which again make no sense as it is less than one year old from the manufacture date!!
