Thank you for joining our community for some troubleshooting help with your new 43” TV. I understand experiencing a black screen issue can certainly be disappointing.
Have you tried to power cycle your TV? You’re able to do this by unplugging your TV from all the connected components, and the power source for a few minutes. Then plug your TV back in and reconnect the components then try to turn it on. This should clear any data that may be built up associated with an error. If you’re continuing to get a black screen I’d recommend trying to push the reset button on the back of your TV for 15 seconds. This button should be just above the headphone jack, USB port, and HDMI ports. Please let us know if those troubleshooting steps didn’t work, and I’d be happy to continue assisting you.

Thank you for sharing that you’ve reset the TV back to factory defaults, and power cycled it. I’m sorry to hear that neither of those options have proven fruitful for you. Have you tried an alternative source of power like a different outlet? If that doesn’t resolve the issue then I’d recommend calling Geek Squad at 1-800-433-5778 to seek an in-home appointment under your limited one year warranty with us.

Thanks for sharing that you were having some issues seeking assistance with the warranty. I’d be happy to point you in the correct direction.
Best Buy’s customer service teams at 1-888-BESTBUY or (888) 237-8289 or on their Best Buy Support Online Forum Community may be able to help your boyfriend locate the receipt. He’d just need to provide some more details regarding his purchase. These details would be which day, store, purchase amount, and if any other items were purchased too at the same time. I can’t guarantee they’ll be able to find the receipt, but usually they have pretty good luck with these kinds of things.
