When I turn my tv off with the remote the screen does not go to black, it stays a dull blue color. The only way to get the screen to go black is to pull the cord out of the wall. I checked to see if this was some power saving mode, but it doesn’t appear that this tv even has that as an option. Any suggestions?

After reviewing the User Manual for this TV, it appears that pushing the power button after the TV has powered on will place it in standby mode, meaning it would still be receiving power. To completely disconnect power, you would need to unplug the power adapter as you suggested.

Although it doesn't appear this is a setting that can be changed, you may wish to attempt a factory reset by going to: Menu > Settings > Reset to Default. You would then need to set up your TV again using the on-screen TV Setup Wizard.
