Issues with NS-19D310NA19 and Roku

We recently signed up with Xfinity and were told that we could use Roku instead of a tv box from Comcast for a 2nd tv, so my wife bought the NS-19D310NA19 tv (720p) and a Roku Premiere at a local Best Buy. I connected the Roku to the tv using the HDMI cable that came with the Roku and ran the power to the Roku from the wall using the provided USB cable. We downloaded the Xfinity app but when we turn the tv on, we consistently get nothing but static. If we restart the Roku from either the menu or by disconnecting the power supply and allow it to restart, everything comes back just fine. I tried connecting to both HDMI ports on the back of the tv but experienced the same problem regardless of which port I used.

Everything works fine once the Roku is restarted but every time the tv is powered off then back on, we have to go through the same rigmarole all over again. We stopped by Best Buy yesterday but the technicians were unfamiliar with this issue and gave us a replacement Roku. The 2nd device has the same issue.

Am I doing something wrong? Does this tv not work with Roku or perhaps this particular Roku product? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to our community, and thanks for reaching out. That is also a problem I've never run into before. It certainly sounds frustrating.

 

Have you attempted using a different HDMI cable? That may help.

 

Have you also tested other input devises on that television besides the Roku? That will help determine if this is an issue with the television, or something else.
