Insignia tv problem

Hello, new to forums so please bear with me... I have an Insignia TV model number is NS24E200NA14.

I can watch for a few minutes then it goes off and on. It eventually comes back on but it continues in a loop. It's like the tv is getting too warm. I also do not have a remote.

Re: Insignia tv problem

Well since nobody wants to reply, I am assuming because the tv is too old, I did some investigating of my own. This is what I found, based on the fix info I read here, I did the resetting and erasing frequency changed my cable box from 3 to 4 and it works a lot longer, but still power cycles.. I read somewhere here it could be the power supply. So I looked at the power supply and found possible discrepancy the power supply reads output 12v ~ 1.0A  the tv reads output 12v ~ 3.0A.  I have a question for Insignia. Who manufactures the power supplies for your tv's? The reason I ask this is no where on the power supply does it mention Insignia!

Re: Insignia tv problem

Hi, Staceyk922,

Welcome to our community, and thanks for your patience in awaiting this reply. Having your television turn off randomly like that must be a pain. I'm happy to hear that you've got this lasting longer than it was before.

I don't have any information about the source of any particular components in Insignia televisions, but I'd be happy to see if I can help troubleshoot this. That output discrepancy should not be causing this, based on what you've said so far

Have you attempted to use the television with a different power outlet? Hopefully swapping outlets will help resolve this.

Sincerely,

Re: Insignia tv problem

I have tried other outlets. So when I touch the power supply it is super hot. Is there somewhere I can order a new one?

Re: Insignia tv problem

Hi, Staceyk922,

If any factory-authorized replacement parts are still available for this model, they can be ordered through PartStore. If the power supply is very hot, we would not recommend using it.

Just in case it's helpful, you can find a digital copy of the manual for your TV here.

Re: Insignia tv problem

A hot power supply should not be used. AND since some power supplies have a thermal overtemp detector that could explain why the TV turns off after a while. Then it cools a bit and the overtemp resets itself and you start all over. Make sure you have the correct power supply, and you may need to replace an external power supply.
