Insignia tv picture suddenly went dark.

I tried unplugging, plugging in, no deal.
Cant see well enough to get settings.
Bought from Best Buy in 2016, its recorded as a purchase in my profile.
Do I need a repair already? I thought tvs lasted longer than this.

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. Thanks for reaching out to us about this. Having a television stop working on you is always a bad experience.

 

Is that television still producing volume and a dim picture? If so, it sounds like that may be a failed back light.Can you please provide the model number on the television so I can see what troubleshooting options we may have for you?

Yes the volume still works. The picture is very dark. Almost black at the top and bottom, less dark in the middle band.

Is the screen the same brightness no matter what input and no matter what TV channel? If watching from an antenna or cable TV, please try changing the TV channel and, if still the same, ensure the antenna or cable TV is connected correctly and securely. Once you’ve checked these, while I hear that you’re having a hard time seeing the menu, adjusting the brightness of your TV would be the next step we would suggest. For in-the-moment support with that, you can call Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289.

The darkness does not change when changing channels, and the antenna is connected securely. I dont use cable.

Settings won't appear so I can't change the brightness.
