Insignia fire tv and Direct tv

I just bought a NS-24DF310NA21 Fire tv and cant figure out how to get my Direct tv on it. Can anyone help?
I literally hv everything cinnected same as my old tv ( hdmi cable connected from cable box to tv and the cable coaxial from wall goes to the cable box. And power cord thats it. And does acknowledge it at all. What am i missing here?
I have a fire tv in my other room and it connects to direct tv fine but its a sony . Please help!!!

It's likely you've already done this, but on the HOME screen, navigate to the INPUTS row, then select the HDMI port to which you've connected your satellite box (i.e., HDMI1, HDMI2, or HDMI3).

 

It's also possible that the TV and satellite box are not properly communicating with each other. Try this: press and hold Home on your TV remote control until the Quick Settings menu opens. Select Display - Picture Size, then change the setting. If Picture Size is grayed out (not available to select), change the setting for Auto Aspect to Off.

 

It may also be necessary to adjust the box's video output settings. For assistance with your satellite box, please contact your service provider.

 

You can find additional troubleshooting options in the TV User Guide.

 

If the problem persists after trying these steps,  I recommend contacting Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289 for further assistance with your home theater setup.

That's exactly what i had to do. Does that mean something is wrong with the tv or something? Or is this normal for this tv?
