Insignia TVs developing blue tint....

Since roughly January of 2016 I have purchased 44 (yes fourty four) Insignia TVs. They are installed at various locations though out the city I work in. They all play the exact same source (DirecTV).

Of those 44, 5 have developed a blue tint on every input as well as the menu. That's over a 10% fail rate at less than 2 years in service.

To date, hI haven't read any complaints of this nature. Has anyone else on here had any issues like this? In total I have bout over 70 TVs including Vizio, LG, Samsung, etc. & They are running strong! Are the rest going to crap out too?

Re: Insignia TVs developing blue tint....

Hello LordofSav,

Welcome to our community.

If you haven't already, try power-cycling the TV by turning it off and unplugging it for several minutes. This should serve to reset the TV hardware.

If the problem persists, your TVs will likely need repairs. If your TVs are 42" or less, you can pursue service by carrying your TVs in to your local Geek Squad. You can schedule an appointment by visiting We're Here to Help and selecting "Make a Reservation" under "Getting Help is Easy." If your TVs are larger than 42" please call Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289 for assistance scheduling repairs.

Please note: for those of your TVs outside the one year factory warranty, service would be at your expense.

Thank you for writing to us.

Re: Insignia TVs developing blue tint....

You are not alone. I have bought 18 Insignias over the last 2 years and in the order of age everyone of them are developing a blue tint and getting darker. It is clearly a design defect or just These sets are not designed to last. I am done with these Insignia Tv's. Guess there's a reason they are so cheap to buy.

Re: Insignia TVs developing blue tint....

Hello Tiege53,

Welcome to our community.  I purchased an Insignia Roku TV for myself nearly two years ago and haven't had any problems with it thus far, so I'm sorry to hear you've had a different outcome with your many Insignia TVs.  As my good friend @John-BBY mentions above, you are welcome to schedule a service appointment with Geek Squad for service under your Insignia warranty.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

Re: Insignia TVs developing blue tint....

These TV's are not Roku models. The warranty ran out in August. I now have an additional tv as of today, with the same issue.
Each tv is the same model number 55D510NA17&18. So, I should schedule a service call by Geek Squad at my expense to fix Best Buy's House Brand TV's that didn't last a year and a half? Yea, I think I'll take a loss over throwing good money after bad.
"Cheap TV's," isn't an excuse here as I have same priced Toshibas and Sharps bought from Best Buy and they are still performing well. There is an obvious defect in the 55" models and I will no longer purchase TV's from them.
Hopefully they will see the loss of my $20-$40k a year I normally spend, that's about all I can do.
