Insignia TV model: NS-46E340A13 Takes about five minutes to power on

[ Edited ]

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 46 inch insignia TV model # NS-46E340A13
When I press the power button from either the remote or the TV itself the red light goes off and then you have to wait about 3 to 5 minutes for the TV to actually turn on. Once the TV is on the red light stays off, and when you power down the TV the red light comes on and stays on steady. I opened up the back of the TV and inspected and everything looks fine. I was assuming that my power supply board was going bad so I looked at possibly buying one and the only place I can find one is refurbished on eBay or on other refurbished parts web sites. They are about $80 to $90. While I was searching for power supply boards I found another post that claim that this problem may be caused by the U403 EEPROM chip on the main board.

My Main question is has anyone had a similar issue or other experience with this. Does anyone know if it is the power supply or is it the EEPROM?
I am very confident in my ability to replace either one, I just don’t wanna buy the wrong part and then have to buy the other part and waste money. Thank you for any help you give me… John

Hi, John,

Welcome to our community. It's great to have someone technical join us.

We wouldn't be able to give you an answer on what is wrong with that television without getting hands on with it to do a  diagnostic. You can set up a reservation to have it shipped to a service center here. Alternatively, you could give our Insognia support line a call at (877) 467-4289.

Please let me know if I can help you out with anything else.

Sincerely,

For cost of tvs nowadays cheaper to buy new. Maybe stay away from branded name one that require you to go to only one place
