Insignia TV Stuck on Photo in Menu - Round 2

So, here I am again, one step closer to the creek with this waste of money JUNK TV.  Apparently the Admin didn't like my last post because it included some symbols that I used to represent the profane brand name of the TV I am having trouble with, so I will avoid using ANY symbols above the numbers on my keyboard this time.  Whoda thought!  So to the problem, and as promised by me to the Admin in my reply to his private message, I will also list ALL the problems I have encountered with this waste of money TV to date and see if there are any answers to those either (maybe the solution is replacing with a different brand?!?).

 

The Insignia NS-32D200NA14 is stuck in the menu under PHOTO telling me to "Please insert USB flash drive" on the screen.  As I stated before in my other post that was deleted:  Please do not come back to me with the generic answers of unplug all the connections in the back, turn off then back on, turn off and mash buttons then back on, hit the menu button while turning on or while turning off then on again, press the channel button, leave unplugged for x/minutes x/hours x/days (was unplugged for 1.5 days and never reset), etc., etc., etc.  I have done them ALL.  I have also spent hours upon hours researching online as well to no avail.  What now?  I'm sure the next response is bring it in to a repair facility, which would almost certainly cost more than what I paid for it, to have it diagnosed.  BUT I am all ears...

 

As promised, here are all the other issues this piece of junk has that I have managed to live with (ignore) considering it was a cheap TV relative to a Sony:

-Had to have replaced in the first month at Best Buy as it would not turn on after using it for a total of a couple hours after purchase

(The rest of the list is from the replacement TV, same model/brand)

-TV turns on by itself and after being off for hours (No stuck buttons)

-Volume goes up to max on it's own, sometimes after turning on by itself, sometimes while watching the TV (And the button is NOT stuck - checked)

-Volume gets stuck on MAX (Not good with an infant trying to sleep)

-TV repeatedly turns on after turning off (Again, no stuck buttons)

-Changing the volume with the button on the side actually changes the channel

-Changing the channel with the button on the side actually changes the volume, which promptly goes to MAX (Again, no stuck buttons)

-Remote ceased operating within 2 months, had to buy a generic remote from (guess who?) BEST BUY

-Channel takes 25-30 secs to change after hitting the button, whether on remote OR side of TV

-Channel will change 2-3 times after hitting either button (remote or side of TV) only once

-Turn TV on and ALL settings will have been deleted, including all the channels that were scanned (digital antennae, no power loss in house either)

-Takes several minutes for an input to be recognized as being "on"

-DVD player is on but have to go into the INPUT menu several times for it to be recognized as an option to switch to

-Input selection screen takes 30 secs to disappear after not hitting any buttons and EXIT does nothing

-MENU feature loads but using the up/down/side to side does nothing and then MENU closes on its own after a very delayed 30 secs OR sometimes by NOTHING except unplugging the TV

-Randomly turns on with a "Select a Language" menu and the only way to get it to clear is by actually UNPLUGGING the TV as the POWER button conveniently STOPS WORKING!

 

So should I call the priest from Poltergeist to come to my house or is Best Buy going to actually do something to help me opposed to deleting another one of my post?  And to preemptively answer the question, NO I do not still have the receipt for the purchase of this JUNK TV.  I do, however, remember where I bought it and who has not been very helpful yet in solving my problem with said piece of junk - Best Buy.  I have been a long time customer of Best Buy - over 25 years - and have made purchases ranging from 5 dollars (hehe, no dollar sign so you can't delete this post) to 10,000 dollars for a total home theatre system w/sound and other accessories.  Please don't let me down and you will continue to have my business.  Next time will NOT be with a no-name piece of junk TV, even if it is just one for my children's school room.  And understand that I only went cheap with the TV because I was using it as only for the purposes of homeschooling my 4 children, not for lack of funds. 

 

If I cannot get a good solution to really the only issue I cannot get around (being stuck on the PHOTO menu with the message "Please insert USB flash drive", preventing the TV from being used), then not only is the TV going swimming and being posted online along with a ravaging review, but you will also loose all my future business to any number of your competitors.

Welcome to our community. Anytime you're not able to use technology for its intended use isn't something anyone looks forward to. I was disappointed to read this has been your experience with your Insignia™ TV.

Sam,

 

    I really applaud your candor and appreciate your diffusion of my situation.  I re-read my post and see how it seems completely angry, when in reality it was mainly just sarcasm.  Don't get me wrong, there was some anger, mostly frustration, but my main goal was to bring forward a summary of a consumer experience and serious frustration when there are already enough of those (frustrations) in the World that we don't pay for with hard earned money.  Then add to it the fact that my non-vulgar post was deleted citing vulgarities due to some symbols without any letters leading up to or after, understand that my time spent felt wasted when I was simply asking for assistance but given what was perceived as sensorship.  Thank you, without sarcasm, for allowing me to be heard and not deleting my post.  Now, back to the TV problem...

 

    I did not call their tech support line - I asked my 9-year-old daughter what she thought; swim in the creek or call the tech number.

 

    She stated that she had been trying to tell me all along but that I had not heard her opinion as to a potential solution (not in so many words).  She said that she had been trying to tell me to try the WII-U remote control feature all along, which I promptly told her that it wouldn't work because the other 2 universal remotes did not work.  So, with no other options left I FINALLY listened to my somehow enlightened daughter, considering that I have a hand in raising her I am so surprised she is so open to possibilities when I can be so blinded, and tried it.  HOLY SHRIMP!!  IT WORKED!!  HOW??  WHAT??  It really did work, and I am not sure why, BUT IT DID!!  The WII-U controller was the only thing that worked, and just by simply hitting channel up.  Same code as the universal remotes, same location in house, same everything EXCEPT the remote,  I even tried the universal one first with no success, but the WII-U WORKED!!  Whodathought??

 

    The moral of the story - Listen to your children.  Also, games systems aren't always bad so long as that is not all you use them for in the end.  Also, buy a WII-U as a back-up if your INSIGNIA TV gets stuck in a random menu!!

 

    I think I shall go throw myself in the creek now...
