Hi, samwebb and Jendabomb,
Thanks very much for reaching out to us about these remote codes.
All known remote codes for GE remotes are in the first post of this thread. If none of those work, you'll want to reach directly out to the manufacturer to see if they can provide another code.
I'm not able to locate that Shaw remote based on that model number, but all codes should be available here. That site should help you get the correct code.
Please let me know if I can help out with anything else.

Good morning...have the above mentioned tv...it has been sitting around for a year and decided to hook it up again in a different location with a new hd cable box. Using RCN's black universal remote and thought I found a code that turned the tv on and off and controled volume. What I discovered last night was that hitting the all off button on that remote doesn't fully power off the tv...there is still aglow on the screen and red power light doesn't come on like when its fully powered off. I have to hit the power button by itself again to fully power it off. This is for an elderly parent and am trying to make it as easy as possible. Am I using the wrong code or is this not supposed to fully power off? When I used it with a tivo unit I didn't have that problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Watrat,
Thanks for joining our community, and for that great question.
That model of television is designed to go into standby mode when it is off, rather than completely turning off. When it is in standby mode, that light will be on. It sounds like that remote is working properly and turning the television off in the intended way, and that pervious remote was doing it incorrectly.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Sincerely,

Thank you for the prompt reply...I do appreciate it. The problem with it going into standby is that in a dark room when trying to sleep it is a bit much. If its supposed to be like that will it eventually power itself off? Is there any cause for concern with burn in or anything?

Hi, Watrat,
Thanks for following up. I just realized that I had misread your previous post. I'm sorry about that. I thought you had said the red light did come on, not that it didn't. If that red light isn't coming on,t he television isn't powering off into standby mode.
I'm going to move this thread over to our remote control code thread. Please provide the model number for the remote that you are using. I'll lee if I can find one that will work for you.
