Insignia SB212 Sound Bar

I have an Insignia SB212 Soundbar that has given me 5 years of good service.  It still sounds good.

This soundbar is connected to my Vizio TV through an Optical Cable.  During the night, several hours after the TV and Soundbar have been turned off, the soundbar starts making loud popping sounds.  I end up having to unplug the soundbar from its powercord.

Any ideas how to remedy this?

That is a strange problem. After leaving it unplugged for an extended time does it still make
the popping sound? What happens if you unplug the optical cable instead of removing the power? Does it pop then?

Re: Insignia SB212 Sound Bar

After plugging it in in the morning, it does not make in popping sounds until later that night after turning everything off. It does not make the popping sound until after everything has been turned off for several hours. Usually around 4-5 AM.

I cannot speak to what happens during the day when I am at work.

No, I have not unplugged the optical cable, as I figured since the TV was off, there would be no signal coming through it.

I can try that and see what happens.
