Insignia NS-43D420NA18 Firmware

My new TV is acting a little squirrly (keeps wanting me to scan for TV channels - I use it ONLY for streaming from Roku and BluRay) I do NOT use a coax connection at all, each TV station is connected with ethernet over my LAN. So the TVs connect via HDMI to the Roku and Blu Ray player.

I thought it might help to update the firmware but when I navigate to the site listed in my user manual there is not an option to upload.  ???

I bought this TV because I have another Insignia in the other room and it works great. I especially like the Insignia because it doesn't have Smart TV functions. I use Rokus which are in my opinion much better than individual TV or Blu Ray players.

Re: Insignia NS-43D420NA18 Firmware

Hi there, putteringalong,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for reaching out regarding your new Insignia TV! It sounds like it is being quite odd with it wanting you to scan for channels. Checking the firmware updates is a great troubleshooting idea. I imagine if there isn't an option to upload, it's because your firmware is already up-to-date.

With that said, have you attempted to power cycle your TV? To power cycle your TV, unplug the set from the outlet. Then proceed to hold down the power button for one minute. Release the button, plug the unit back into the outlet, and attempt to power on.

Re: Insignia NS-43D420NA18 Firmware

Thank you for your response Tasha.

I think that I found the source of the problem. My Roku and BluRay player are plugged into a power strip that has a feature that allows all of the outlets, except two, to be shut off with a remote switch. I control all of my devices, except that power strip, with a Harmony Remote control  When the power strip is off and the TV turns on it cannot find an input device, that feature being enabled in the TV setup.

So I have rampant device confusion and pretty much need to shut everything down and start over.
