I have an Insignia NS‐42E570A11 TV manufactured October 2010, and I am trying to diagnose some HDMI audio issues.
I see in some previous discussions here that there was a firmware update which helped other users with similar problems. The links to the firmware update are no longer working, though, and the old product page has no mention of it either.
I would like to try the update, if someone can point me to a working link to where I can download it.
Thanks

Thanks. I eventually found the firmware update on {removed per forum guidelines} an archived version of the product page.
However, when I tried to use it, the TV does not recognize that my USB flash drive contains any firmware updates at all. It just asks if I want to view photos (though there are none). Maybe this is the normal behavior if the firmware is already up-to-date?
For what it's worth, the audio issue is that one of my HDMI devices is unable to pass AC-3 5.1 audio thru the TV. My AVR, connected to the TV via optical SPDIF, is staying in stereo mode. In a support forum for the device it was suggested that the TV is the problem, even though my other devices send AC-3 and it is passed thru without difficulty, triggering the AVR to switch to Dolby Digital mode. I am not convinced the TV is problem, but want to rule out the possibility by making sure the firmware is up-to-date.

Hello, gentleman23.
Thank you for your message. Because this firmware was released a few years ago and has since been removed from our website, it's possible that your TV's firmware has since been updated and will not recognize this older version. I would have to echo John's recommendation to contact Insignia™ Support at (877) 467-4289 for further assistance.
Warm regards,
