Zach, I'm not sure if you know anything about electronics or computers but this is 100% a software issue. All of the issues happened after the most recent update (see above for version). It's Occam's razor. There is no way that all of these TVs worked perfectly since black Friday and then all failed at the end of January. And sometimes (especially cheapy brands) don't have their own dev teams as their TV's are made by third party vendors. So they have to hire a dev team to find out what happened here with the TVs. Or perhaps it might still not be marked as a severe issue with insignia. And if Insignia aka Best Buy tries to hand out $200 gift cards I will lose my poop. They need (at Minimum) need to replace these TVs with the 55 inch modelsnor even the Toshiba Fire Edition TVs! So far it's been over a week since my 58 inch board was swapped with a 55 inch models (did the swap myself and the boards were identical) fire TV board. But now my TV thinks it's a 55 inch Insignia however the positive is that it's on the offending software version. The TV has 4+ boards, a power board, logic board, FireTV board and a few LCD controller boards. You can actually bypass this bug by using a Bluetooth headset or sound bar. Everyone keep posting and keep this thread alive!

Mine has been having issues since day one. 

Mine has been having a different issue than those described above

I do use a soundbar over optical. No change. 

So before you come at me with that tone maybe chill. 

In other news I'm at my local best buy and can confirm their plan is to refund the purchase no extra consideration. I'm weighing the option of holding out to see if something from big Best Buy trickles down since mine isnt critical.

Zach, I don't know how you can discern a "tone" from my text? I think you read it in a bag mood and attributed that to my written words. I was just explaining that this is a software issue. I know of four people with the TV and that have had no issues until The end of January for most (I constantly check for updates which is why I guess I started b4 everyone else).

Insignia is pretending this is not happening (so is best buy as they are still selling the tv) and it's a joke. And Zach it's horrible that they are just giving back $200 instead of swapping it for the 55 inch (which isn't having the problem). I have a 55 inch model also and my 58 now thinks it's a 55 so I can confirm both are not affected. I'm sorry for offending you.

"I don't know if you know anything about electronics" can easily be interpreted as condescending and was probably unnecessary. 4 data points is hardly conclusive. If hardware wasn't at least suspected then why bother with the expense of swapping them out? I suspect this model is problematic from front to back.

Anyway we're on the same team here. I spoke with someone at corporate today after emailing their exec team who told me to pound sand. I've sent another message and opened a BBB complaint

I got this tv from Best Buy a 58” insignia fire tv and from time when watching the tv the sound goes out then it Comes back in how can this problem be fixed I tried unplugging resetting and still didn’t work as well the audio out sound is stuck on off it won’t all me to turn it on

The volume on the fire tv cuts out constantly. I've tried power cycling the tv, resetting the tv, and even factory resetting the tv and nothing seems to work
