Insignia™ - 50” - SO FRUSTRATED!!!!

Bought this TV a little over a year ago and lost the replacement remote. A friend had the tv and it needed a factory reset. I have another older Insigna TV and the remote works to turn the TV on and off as well as some navigation. I was able to get the rest done.

Now as the TV is working through the set-up again, I am now stuck on the “Searching for remote” page. I can’t seem to get passed this screen without the Alexa remote. There has to be a way to bypass this screen. Not everyone has the actual Alexa remote and people do have just plain universal remotes. My old insigna remote has a home button also and pressing it doesn’t help here.

Please help me solve this. I just want to get passed the searching screen and watch tv. Sigh.

Generally speaking, the only remote control guaranteed to work with a TV is the one that came in the box with it.


For this concern, I recommend contacting Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289 for further assistance. They should be able to help with your TV setup and with acquiring a replacement remote control if necessary.
