DVD player & Fire TV

I have a 4K Insignia Fire TV, how do I get my DVD player to work with it?

Re: DVD player & Fire TV

I take it your DVD player only has RCA and/or component video out?  And you DVD player may have a few years on it.

And, like me you have a collection of DVD movies.

Before you spend money making it work, the picture output of a DVD player is 480P which is very low compared to what your 4K TV can produce.  You may be very disappointed with the quality.

I would suggest looking at a Blu Ray player that has upscaling.

Something like the  Sony BDPS1700 it wil allow you to play your DVD collection and upscale it to a higher resolution.

Does your TV only have HDMI inputs.

If that is the case you can do a search on Best Buys web site for RCA to HDMI converter.  But for not too much more than the cost of the converty you can get the Blu Ray Player

Re: DVD player & Fire TV

Hello, tcromell,

Thanks for reaching out, and thanks to bobberuchi for hopping in to help.

He's right on that you'll need a HDMI connection to get that DVD player connected, most likely. If the DVD player doesn't have HDMI output, a newbBlu-Ray player is probably your best bet.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
