Can't scroll inside settings

I have a 19 inch LCD TV model # NS-19E310A13..... I can't get past parental controls to start. I am trying to get to the reset option. None of the av settings recognize any external gear.

Re: Can't scroll inside settings

Hello R3you,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

What is it you are trying to do? Are you trying to get into parental controls or are you trying to connect and use equipment?

The TV will only recognize equipment if it receives a signal from it. So you will need to make sure that everything is connected correctly and turned on. What are you trying to connect to the TV? What type of wire do those devices connect with?

If you select parental controls, can you access the settings? The default password is 0000. The parental controls do not have anything to do with connecting devices though.

Re: Can't scroll inside settings

I want to go into settings to remove the auto scan for side av. Nothing works on AV. Parental controls code (oooo) pops up a button lock command and I can't get past that point. Any button I click just keeps popping the button lock and I am not allowed to even change that. I want to get to the controls that allow me turn off auto av scan or reset this television.

Hello R3you,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

If the TV is asking you to run an auto scan, that simply means that you are on the TV input and not receiving a signal. If you are trying to connect an AV device (red/white/yellow), you will need to first make sure it is connected correctly. The red and white cables will connect to the audio red/white on the TV. The yellow connection will connect to the green port labeled video. Once you have it completely connected, make sure the device is turned on, and then you should be able to change inputs to AV. No scan or setting will stop you from doing this.

If you are in the menu and it constantly asks for a pin, this means the parental controls have been turned on. Try using code 9999. This will allow you into the parental controls. From here you can turn the parental controls off, or simply adjust any settings you would like.

Re: Can't scroll inside settings

Hey Ryan.... I have tried the 9999 code as well and it instantly pops up the button lock command and will not allow me to pass that point. I want to use a DVD player or a PC monitor but it doesn't recognize anything. I had seen an earlier post from a person that reversed auto av and it worked. I was trying to get to that or to the reset tv. I can do neither with the 0000 or the 9999 code. It simply takes me to button lock over and over and I am not even allowed to change that setting! I am using a universal remote if that matters?

Re: Can't scroll inside settings

Hello R3you,

Thank you for responding!

Double check the model number for the TV and make sure it matches NS-19E310A13. If the TV is asking for a code and is not accepting 9999 as the code then the TV is defective and would need to be repaired or replaced. Do you know if an extended warranty was purchased with the TV?
