CAN'T CONNECT INSIGNIA TV TO THE INTERNET

I have an Insignia tv  mode59A11 and I can't connect it to the internet. I have multiple devices connected via WiFi and I've even gone so far as to connect the tv using ethernet. I'm in graduate school for cyber-security and I'm well versed in technology. Is there anything I can do before I go through all the effort of hauling this big thing down to Best Buy and wasting money on a simple solution?

Can you please double-check your model number? Usually they start with NS or a number representing the size of your TV. Also, can you please share if you’ve power cycled your TV and reset it back to the factory settings?

I am so sorry. I thought I did put the complete model number. It is NS-42E859A11. Yes, I've done the hard power reset and everything else I could think of, please help.

Thanks for sharing your model number with us! We sincerely appreciate it. Given the age of your TV it could be a faulty network card; however, getting to the root of the issue may not be cost effective. I’d highly recommend giving our teams at (877) 467-4289 a call. They’d be able to share if there’s any other troubleshooting options available to offer you.

Ok, will do thank you for the phone number. I did call Best Buy since I already have an account with them. They said since the TV doesn't have a protection plan on it they couldn't advice me over the phone. They said to bring it in and the Geek Squad will look at it for free and go from there. Even though it was bought from Amazon since I have a school account with them they are going to see if they can repair it I don't have a car so that's the problem.

Before I called Best Buy I talked to Insignia. They told me they didn't know why it isn't working and that for a mere $100 they would send out a technician just to look at it much less whatever would have to be ordered to fix it. This has been such a pain but since I'm in the field it's kinda become my side project.

Insignia would be the best positioned to advise on this matter. The TV was manufactured in 2011 and limited assistance may be provided due to the age of the product. I apologize if you’re receiving conflicting information.

Thank you so much for all your help. You have given me more answers than all the people I've talked to. I'm pretty sure you are correct on the network card. I think I'm going to take it into Best Buy. The reason being is the Insignia's IT said I couldn't bring it to Best Buy because it was bought from Amazon. Thing is after talking to Best Buy and because I have a student account through my college they are able to look at it. They told me the reason Insignia said that is because of contract agreements between manufacturers and retail companies. This doesn't apply to me because I am under a corporate account. It doesn't me anything for them to look at it and order whatever it may need.
