Amazon Fire remote forgets Insignia TV

Model: NS-55D420NA20 Insignia TV

After configuring, testing and leaving Amazon Fire Stick, the Amazon remote forgets it was configured for the TV so I can't control power or volume.  Amazon suggests resetting the Amazon remote which I've tried.

 

Amazon Fire stick is powered by TV USB. Stick is remembering WIFI and Account information between uses.

 

Could be similar to other posts here with no answer, such as:

Welcome back to the forums.  That certainly sounds frustrating.


Just to make sure I’m understanding this correctly, you paired the TV remote with the Fire Stick, and now the TV remote will only control that stick, and not the TV?

No, sorry for the confusion.  I paired the FireStick remote with the TV but each time I switch inputs to the FireStick it is forgoten the TV model it was paired with.
