This problem can be overcome by using the Amazon Fire TV remote app. Follow all the steps and give the tvs unique names while setting up, or after registering them to your Amazon devices list. The app lets you control multiple tvs without "crosstalk". Only quirk is to power off, you select the gear icon and choose sleep.
