Will I be able to fit a 60 inch television in my sedan?

I am looking to purchase this tv for my brother: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-60-class-59-5-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-ultra-hd-tv-black/3429102.p?id...

Since Best Buy support is taking days of sending me stock answers as to why my 10% moving coupon won't be accepted on this item, I'm likely going to miss the deadline to have it delivered when I need it (tomorrow).

My question is that my car seats in my sedan fold down and can acommodate around 6 feet deep and probably about 4 feet wide (not positive, but I know it's enough to fit the height of the tv, with the tv in long ways).

I was hoping to find dimensions for the box on Best Buy's site, but again came up empty handed (another point for amazon who always lists box dimensions).

Could anyone help me and let me know if it's common for people to fit these tvs in sedans the way I'm suggesting? I normally buy online but was tempted to go to Best Buy to use the coupon. Of course, if they continue to reject the coupon, I'll just order online.

Thanks for your help!

I thought it was best to transport TV's vertically to avoid screen cracks.

Re: Will I be able to fit a 60 inch television in my sedan?

Hello DrSherlockHouse-

I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t received a response back on your question regarding the use of a Mover’s Coupon with this particular TV.  After checking this TV in our inventory system, it actually is a UMRP (Unilateral Minimum Resale Price) product, and as such, does not qualify under the mover’s coupon terms and conditions here.

As xl pointed out, it’s never a good idea to transport any flat screen TV on its back and this generally causes fractures in the screen.  Best Buy is not able to replace physically damaged TV’s like this under our Return & Exchange Promise.  It appears that at least in my area, most stores have this item available in stock, so it may be worth a trip to your store to have a look at the dimensions.  In addition, with TV’s 51” and larger, we do offer free delivery and haulaway, so you could also ask your local store about that option.

I hope this helps!

This may be too late and I am sorry but you didn't mention what kind of sedan/car you have.  Although it may fit once inside the car ( I also agree keeping it vertical) the issue you will have unless a hatch is getting it through the car door.
