I hate to use this as an excuse but the micro chip shortage that has console buyers frustrated is hitting up the Home Theater Receiver community as well.
So I guess for now supplies are low and demand has not changed.
I got my current receiver in the fall of 2019 and I am glad I got it when I did.
I have been thinking about upgrading my receiver with my new TV but I also observed there are not a lot of sales.
However, I think we can expect some sales for Memorial Day and or July 4th.

I have been thinking about this
I think a lot of it could be a matter of demand determines supply
To me a really nice receiver and paired speakers is the crowing touch to a multi thousand dollar TV
Most people seem to be going with the speakers that come with the TV or getting a soundbar with a sub woofer.
Receivers are probably near the bottom of the chain, with computers being at the top.
There was a time when the BB in my town, while not magnolia, had a significant part of the store decidated to receiver and speakers. Now they have one short isle for receivers.
