What would be the best devise to buy to burn DVD from a VHS tape?

I am trying to make DVD copies of family VHS video for family reunion. What would be the best way to approach to making about 10 DVDs?

If you still have a workign VCR and a computer that can burn DVD's, Best Buy does sell

Roxio VHS to DVD software.  Only $30. If you dont' have a VCR ask around you may know someone who will let you borrow it.  However I would test it on an unecessary VHS tape first to make sure it isn't going to eat your tape.

The hang up is converting the Analog signal from your VHS to Digital.  With this software you simply connect your DVD to the included capture device. You then connect the captrue device to your computer.  You then run the tape to capture the video to digital to your pc and then do as you will  The software also contains some editing features.

Hey SarniaMinton,

Thanks for stopping by and asking your question! Preserving memories for future generations is important.

Bobberuchi made a great recommendation! There is also an alternative option if you're looking for a do it yourself method. You can purchase a Toshiba Multiformat DVD/VHS Recorder. It has raving reviews on BestBuy.com.

This route will not require a laptop as the recorder would do all the work for you.

Kindly,
