Hi folks,

I'm currently in the process of buying a house and have been trying to plan ahead on the multi-room audio front. Initially I saw the property had ceiling speakers in most rooms so started to look further at some of the photos. I was hopeful that the system could just be simply upgraded and had the right wiring in place. Unfortunately there is an old (ish, circa 2010) Opus A-bus system installed, which delivers signal and power from a distribution unit via network cable. Mind blown, I didn't even know this existed.

As I understand it, the distribution unit has 7 main zones which can distribute the input sources to each zone. I think each of those zones have a wall unit which drives 2 passive ceiling speakers each.

Does anyone have any experience upgrading these? I'd like to get a more modern airplay 2 supporting system in place - either Sonos or the NAD stuff. It would seem audio cable runs to the wall boxes (in line and size with a light switch) - so I assume I'm going to have to splice/replace the audio cable and run it to a location I can put an amp?

Appreciate any experience/advice on this.
