I'm about to buy Sennheiser RS 120 2 headphones.  I've read both device descriptions and am not convinced that red and white RCA jacks on the back of the TV will supply the headset's transmitter.

I ordered ananother headset and couldn't get it to work with those jacks, which are in a rectangle marked "A/V in".

Is there something weird about Samsung TVs?  Any insight would be appreciated.

Those are strictly inputs. Most newer TVs do not have red/white audio outputs. Your Samsung does have a 3.5mm audio out for headphones. If you're headphones do not have a 3.5mm connection, you can pick up a stereo radio to 3.5mm adapter pretty cheaply.

That should have said stereo RCA to 3.5mm, not stereo radio.
