I can search, rent, or buy movies, but when I play the video, there's only audio. If I fast forward, I get an error message. Netflix also will only let me search, but I get an error message when I try to play.

Renting movies through Amazon is my favorite way to catch up newer releases. I’m sorry to hear that feature isn’t working as it should be on your new Toshiba Fire TV. We’d be happy to see what troubleshooting advice I can share with you.
Can you please share the model number of your TV? Have you double checked that all your connections are firmly connected? Also, have you attempted to power cycle your TV? You should be able to do this by unplugging your TV from power for a few minutes then plugging it back on. We look forward to your reply to learn more about your issue and to hear those
