I purchased a Toshiba Fire TV last week at the Best Buy in Clearwater, Fl, for my 90-year-old mother in law, and then set it up for her. Today she reported it wasn't working correctly. I live about 45 minutes away, so I drove there and determined that after several days of working correctly, it no longer was. I'd set the TV up so that when the TV was powered on, it would default to the last input (HDMI 2) used, go into full-screen mode, at the default Spectrum (our local cable tv provider) channel, which is 9. Today, something changed. Now it defaults to the Fire TV home screen, even though I selected "default to last input used" in settings. Then, if "HDMI 2" is selected, the home screen is still displayed, but the "HDMI 2" video is displayed in a small box in the upper left hand part of the screen, and won't go to a full-screen display unless the "Fire TV" remote enter button is pushed. Ideas? If none, I'll try to reboot the system and restart at the original settings. Thanks!
