Apologies if this has been asked, but I didn't see it in searches
I bought a 55" Toshiba Fire TV right around Black Friday and it's been mostly working great since then. The only problem is sporadically the volume settings seem to be multiplied. Normally a volume setting around 15 is comfortable, and volume increments are small. But sometimes the volume gets multiplied and 15 is far too loud, and each step is a large jump. Restarting the TV resets the volume to normal. I think it happens when I exit a show in middle of a commercial, but I'm not sure. Anyone else seen this? Is there a resolution to this? Thanks

Welcome to our community! We’re sorry to hear that you’re having some volume related issues with your new 55” TV. I understand how frustrating that would be to have volume levels that are varying as you describe. We’d be happy to see what insight we can shed on this matter for you.
Can you please try to power cycle your TV to see if that corrects the issue on a more long term basis? Power cycling your TV includes unplugging it from power and any components you have it connected to or a couple of minutes. It’s like clearing the cache on a computer. If that doesn’t work for you, I’d highly recommend resetting the TV back to factory settings. We look forward to your reply to learn if those options remedied your issues.

The problem is intermittant, it happens every couple days, and I've never really figured out what triggers it (or possibly which app triggers it, and what I have to do in that app, like exitingin the middle of a commercial).
I reset the TV last night... now we wait and see.
Thank you for your pointer... the best I can do is wait a few days or a week and see if it *doesn't* happen.

After powering off & restarting the TV as suggested, things were going well enough. I was planning to post a thank you, until Satudray. Saturday I shut the TV off in the middle of watching a streaming show, and when I turned it back on it was doing the same thing. Volume that had been acceptable was now too loud, steps between volume settings were larger than they should be. Going to the settings and "restarting" the TV fixed the problem, and the volume is now working as expected again.
I'll keep watching and see if I can get it down to maybe a specific app or two... but it was definately after hitting the "power" button on the remote (which I know does not turn the TV fully off) and then turning it back on later.
FYI: I have the TV in it's default mode of going to the home screen when turned on, so it's not jumping back into a station or app.
Thanks for your help

FYI my TV downloaded an update last night. I'm going to try powering off the TV again and resetting it, and see if the patch fixed the volume problem. The patch notes said "bug fixes" ... so I'm hopeful. Wish me luck
