Toshiba Fire TV remote not working after reset

I have a Toshiba Fire TV that’s about 6 months old. For the last month or 2 it’s been telling me the storage is full and hasn’t been working well because of this, although we can’t figure out what’s taking up all the space. We finally did a factory reset, but now the tv doesn’t recognize the remote. The power button works but nothing else, so I can even get past the first step of choosing a language.

We’ve tried holding down the select button to try and pair it, holding select and play, replacing the batteries, unplugging and plugging the tv back in, but nothing is working. I seem to have a useless TV because it no longer recognizes the remote.

Getting a new TV is a big deal, so I can imagine you put a lot of thought into finding the perfect unit to meet your needs. That is why it hurts me to hear that you're having trouble with your Toshiba Fire TV

 

That's not the stress-free experience we wanted for you with this TV. It sounds like you've given a lot of great steps a try, so I'm sad that none of them did the trick. That said, have you checked out our Home Theater Troubleshooting Guide for more ideas? 

 

If you're still having trouble after giving those troubleshooting tips a try, I can look into this further, but I would need the model number.

 

On another note, this TV should still be under the one-year manufacturer warranty if it was purchased six-months ago. If you'd like to work with them for next options, you can call Toshiba at (800) 457-7777.
