I recently purchased Toshiba Fire TV (43") and am quite impressed given the price point. The TV itself has worked well (there was an issue with TV failing to connect with WiFi but after unplugging for 30s, the issue resolved itself.
The reason that brings me here is the remote, however. For last couple of days, I've noticed that some buttons on the remote are not responding, namely the HOME button, as well as Alexa button.
From the home screen, if I go anywhere, I cannot return to home screen using the HOME button (or switch via Alexa) and must use the BACK button repeatedly to get there.
Any advice on how to fix? Or is this a case where it would need to be replaced?

Hello ManneshRoberts,
Not being able to push the button you need, and pushing a different one many times to where you need is frustrating. Thanks for posting to our community to share your concerns with your Toshiba Fire TV remote. I’d be happy to offer a troubleshooting suggestion for you.
Have you attempted to push all the buttons a few times each to double check that the key pad isn’t jammed underneath the plastic casing? I would high recommend removing the batteries from the remote prior to proceeding to this troubleshooting step. Please let us know if still doesn’t work for you, and we’d be happy to help you in the correct direction to get assistance from Toshiba directly.

Hello tsa1213,
Welcome to our community, and thank you for posting to our community on this matter! Were you able to do the recommended troubleshooting I had offered ManeeshRoberts? He didn’t follow up to share if it was successful, but if you’re having the same issue the same advice would apply. Let us know if you need further troubleshooting assistance.

The problem fixed itself with the last firmware/OS update. All buttons started working after that update. So, it must have been a bug with the previous iteration.

Hello tsa1213,
I’d recommend reaching out to Toshiba moving forward. They’d be happy to see what troubleshooting they’d be able to offer. I’m sorry that your issues weren’t resolved like Maneesh’s were with that most recent firmware update.
