I Purchased a Toshiba Fire Tv 55LF621C21 back in June. I mainly just use the TV for Netflix and Amazon Prime. I was watching live Tv (sports) recently, and a Horizontal line runs from top to bottom of the tv. I changed all the picture settings around with no results. I was watching bell satellite through and hdmi cord. I switched the cords and no improvement. I lowered the resolution coming from the bell reciever, all that did was slow down the line going down the sceen.
Is this a tv issue or a connection issue with my bell reciever?

Hello, Case7150,
Welcome to our Best Buy forum community! While I wish your reason for contacting us was a happier one, I appreciate that you took the time to create a forum account to share this experience with us. Seeing horizontal lines on your TV is never fun, but I'm glad you said something for us to see how we can help.
Did the lines only appear when you were watching live TV, or does it occur when watching Netflix and Amazon Prime too? The more details you can provide, the better I can try to narrow down what might be causing the lines.
It was smart of you to switch out the cords and adjust your satellite, as those were the first steps I was going to recommend! However, I'm sad to hear that didn't fix the lines you are seeing. Since you switched out the cables, I don't expect this to be the cause, but make sure that the cables are connected securely.
Another thing that could be causing those lines to occur is nearby devices (such as surround sound receiver, external speakers, fans, or hair dryers). Try turning off one device at a time, then back on so you can figure out which one could be the cause of the interference.
If none of that does the trick, I recommend checking out our Home Theater Troubleshooting Guide, as it's full of great tips that can help correct a variety of TV concerns.
Cheers,

Got it, Case7150.
Thanks for elaborating on that for me. Since you're only receiving the lines on your screen while watching live TV, it does seem like it is something going on with your satellite that is causing the lines to appear. Could your satellite be obstructed by snow? That could be having an impact on your signal.
You can try to reset the receiver to see if that helps with the signal. To do that, press and hold the power button for at least 5-seconds until it resets.
Looking into this deeper, I do see that Bell Satellite TV is a service provided in Canada. Since my team is meant to assist with purchases made in the United States, that might limit some of the options I can provide to help. However, if you'd like to have someone from Geek Squad come out to look at your satellite or set it up again, you can contact our Best Buy Canada support here. Otherwise, you can get in touch with Bell to see if they can take a look at why your satellite isn't working as it should.
Cheers,

I am also having the same issue with my Toshiba 55” Fire TV 55LF621U21 that I bought in October. I have a Xfinity/Comcast cable box hooked up. I had the tech come out to my house for 2 hours trying to troubleshoot and replace all of my equipment only to realize afterward that the problem is with the tv itself. The line moves from the top of the screen to the bottom every few minutes. Very distracting and very frustrating.

Hello,
Thanks for sharing this additional feedback with us regarding this model! Watching TV should be a time of excitement and relaxation, and I can imagine that's not the case where there suddenly are lines across the screen. I know I'd want to know my options for that as well!
While I wish I had more troubleshooting steps to try to correct this issue, at this point it seems like it would be best to contact Toshiba directly about these concerns. They can be reached by calling (800) 457-7777.
Best Wishes,

I am also have the moving horizontal lines on my new fire tv (10/31/20). At first it was fine then the lines started. I've changed my cable box, hdmi cable and had spectrum come to my house to check equipment. The technician said it was the tv. I showed him the video I made of the issue. I have. At first it was just happening on cable stations and now it is also on Netflix. Best Buy is exchanging it this afternoon. In finding these comments, it looks like a very common issue with this TV. I may just have to return for a refund and buy a different brand. I'm sure Toshiba is aware and are still selling these. Is there a fix/patch yet?
