Toshiba Fire TV Blank Screen

Hello, I’m currently having issues with my Toshiba Amazon Fire TV malfunctioning. We were watching a movie and all of sudden the picture/screen went black and we could only hear the audio. We purchased this Fire TV back on Black Friday of 2019. It’s a 50” Class LED 4K UHD model 50LF711U20. We have unplugged and plugged the TV back on, and nothing. We also checked all the attached cables, we only have one, the HDMI cable that connects to our Spectrum Cable box and there were no issues there. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated, we’ve only had this TV for a little over a year now and we thought we wouldn’t have issues like this so early.

Welcome to our community! Having issues with tech is never ideal, and I can understand wanting to check on what may be causing that issue on your Toshiba TV. For clarification, is this happening on all channels? If you haven't done so already, I ask that you please check another channel to see if the station may be experiencing problems. Are you using an antenna?

I ask that you please make sure that the antenna or cable TV is connected correctly and securely, in addition to checking that the video cables are also connected securely. It may be possible that the video cable gave out, and a new one may be required.

Another step to try out is to press and hold Home until the Quick Settings menu opens. Select Display - Picture Size, then change the setting. If Picture Size is grayed out (not available to select), change the setting for Auto Aspect to Off.

Let me know if any of these steps have worked out with showing the picture on your TV!
