My Toshiba Fire TV turns off after about 5 minutes when operating any audio-only app like internet radio. I have ensured the sleep timer is not engaged and have tried a power-disconnect/reboot sequence with no sucess. This does not occur with video apps such as Netflix, Prime or live TV, nor with soundless video apps like a slide player. Any ideas?

Hi there, Butch45,
Thanks for taking the time to connect with us about this. I know that your TV is so important, and we're sorry to hear that you've had some issues.
It sounds like you've tried some great trouble shooting steps. In transparency, this may be a deliberate setting the same as most computers will automatically enter a "sleep" mode if you are not actively using them or video streaming. Please do ensure that you also have any power saving setting, as this may be causing it.
If you're still having troubles, will you please inform us of the model number of your TV?

Thanks for the reply. On further experimentation, I found that the problem disappears when I disconnect my sound system and use TV speakers only. It may be that the TV software idoes not correctly recognize the connection and goes into sleep mode when audio-only apps are playing, as it does when nothing is on but the home screen. I will check out that power-saving idea and failing a solution there, I may contact Toshiba directly. Thanks again.

Thanks for keeping us updated! I'm so happy to hear that you were able find a creative solution, by disconnecting your sound system when you play something that is audio-only on your TV.
However, I can understand how that solution wouldn't be ideal if the appeal of listening to the radio on your TV was that you had the benefit of hearing it through your home theater speakers. If you need further help, reaching out to Toshiba at their support line of (800) 457-7777 is always a great option! Otherwise, if you'd like me to take a look at possible options on my end, feel free to send over the model of your TV.
