The sound works on the 32 inch Toshiba Fire TV, purchased April 2021 from Best Buy. Worked well for the first year but sound now drops dramatically during a broadcast and stays at low volume until we reset volume using remote. We have always used the internal speakers.
This issue seems to occur more frequently recently: three or five times during a one hour show like the PBS Newshour.
We get broadcast TV through an antenna.
Starting to have a similar problem with streamed shows via Amazon Prime which are not broadcast. And we have strong wifi through our condo building.
The major change to system is that we hooked up a small Sony DVD player in January. Prior to that we had no devices hooked to TV, This is hooked to HDMI 1. When playing DVDs, no sound issues.
We have reset sound to CLEAR VOICE as one viewer has some hearing issues and this is easier for them.
Thanks for help.

I don't have the same TV as you buy my husband and I have a 55" HiSense TV with Xfinity and sometimes the TV volume gets lower than what it's supposed to be. We deal with it when it happens but scratch our head as to why it does. When we had DirecTV, we had no issues with volume. I'm not sure what to think of it to be honest with you. It's something that "Just Happens"

Hey there!
Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us about this! I'm sorry to hear that you're having some sound issues with your Toshiba TV. I've definitely had my fair share of audio problems and understand your pain! This is certainly an interesting one. I'd love to learn some more and see what's going on. It sounds like it's pretty much a done deal that the DVD player is contributing to the issues, as the problem is eliminated by unplugging it. But, we shall find out! To get started, could you please reach out to me directly via Private Message and verify your full name, phone number and email address? From there, we can get going!
I look forward to hearing back from you,

Tried to send a private message but got two error messages and then told I had reached my limit for private messages.
The sound issue seems to have stopped when DVD player was unhooked and the TV was completely powered off (unplugged from wall) then restarted.
I had hooked the DVD player through HDMI port 1. Should I use another port for this device to avoid future issues? When playing DVDs, there were no sound issues. Sound issues only occurred when switching back to antenna or streaming.
Thanks for researching this. It's a

Still trying to find out which HDMI port to use for the DVD. That seems to be one of the issues.
Other than that, my solution of turning off the TV completely at the powerstrip can reboot it for a few days before problems starts up again.

That woud be weird that an HDMI port would be causing it. Typically you can use any port for any device. It's a personal preference of those who want to remember what port they are using. I know on my Westinghouse 32" Roku TV in the bedroom, I have my XBOX One labeled on the input portion of the home screen automatically by the system so I know what it is.
