Toshiba 55 in Fire tv live tv doesn’t work

I just purchased this 55 Toshiba Fire tv model 55LF711U20. I have an antenna hooked up and every time I scan the tv for channels it says that I have 60+ digital channels but when the scan is done I have 0 channels. I’ve scanned the tv for live ota channels over 5 times with the same result. Is it an issue with the tv or do I need a special kind of antenna. I didn’t have this issue with a recently bought insignia Fire tv.

Welcome to our Best Buy forum community! Also, congratulations on your new Toshiba 55" TV! As someone who likes to end the day but curling up on the couch with a blanket and watching TV, I know what a big impact a TV can have on your day-to-day life, so we appreciate that you came to us for such an important purchase. That said, it makes me sad to hear that you're not getting the channels through your antenna as expected. That's doesn't sound like the relaxing viewing experience we wanted for you, but we're glad you came to us for help.

 

It sounds like there's a disconnect happening between your antenna and the TV. I recommend checking out the Toshiba Fire TV Edition Manual, where on page 13 they go over how to set up an antenna, just to make sure that everything is connected properly.

 

If you're still having trouble with your TV registering the channels, I recommend using a coaxial cable with your set up, as that will help with any interference and noise you might be encountering from radio waves. It could also mean that the signal is weak and the antenna needs to be adjusted.
