Toshiba 50 in Fire TV input issue when powering on

I bought this TV for my mother-in-law not tech skills at all.   I configured it so when it starts up it alwasy goes back to input HDMI1 .  It worked fine for a couple weeks.  Now when you power the TV on it goes to the home menu showing inputs.  What is going on.  I checke for updates and there are none.   Help please she calls me every day to fix it she has no idea how to go to the TV with the TIVO connected which is HDMI1

Thanks

Re: Toshiba 50 in Fire TV input issue when powering on

Hello, flempitsky,

Helping technology challenged individuals can be taxing when there’s an issue they need help resolving. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to post to our community. We’d be happy to see if we can point you in correct direction.

I’d highly recommend power cycling the TV. Your mother-in-law should be able to do this by simply unplugging the TV and then plugging it back into the outlet. Then I’d recommend setting up the default input again. In the menu, go to Display & Sounds, then to Power On and change the option to desired option you’d like the TV power on to. If the TV continues to “forget” this programming option then I’d suggest resetting the TV back to factory settings then trying to program it to turn on to HDMI 1.

Also, we do have Total Tech Support service too that I’d recommend looking into for your mother-in-law. It can help those that are technology challenged to feel more independent.

Respectfully,
